MICHEL
SARDABY QUINTET
FIVE CATS
BLUES (France, 1967)
Original
issue: LP PRESIDENT (1967)
Reissued as SOUND
HILLS - SSCD-8136 (CD, 2006)
Here is the second album by the Martinique-born
pianist, recorded in 1967. Although it was recorded after BLUE SUNSET
(which dates from 65), I’m not sure whether if was released after or before
BLUE SUNSET (my copy of the Blue Sunset LP on Disques Debs is dated 1969)

complete discography of Michel Sardaby, check here.
In an interview (here) Michel Sardaby explained that this Live recording was sent to President as a demo but the President
Director decided to issue it as it is.
With hindsight, I daresay it was the right decision! What would have been the point in re-recording this already excellent set?
